Ammonite is actually an extinct group of marine cephalopods related to modern day squids. So this shell shaped necklace on 16" chain, is actually a half of a full ammonite which displays the beauty inside. Today we find these in fossilized rocks and they naturally opalize for that color and pattern you see.
